What is unintentional abuse
Unintentional Abuse is when owners or other people who are frequently around the dog are miss-treating the dog without meaning to. This can include many things such as putting your dog's collar on to tight or not giving them enough food or water.
Types of unintentional abuse
- Putting their collar on too tight
- Not giving them enough food or water
- Not grooming them
- Not giving the dog enough exercise
- Keeping the dog in the car for too long
- Not giving the dog adequate bathroom breaks
- Having the dog in too hot or too colder conditions
- Allowing children to bother, hurt or torment the dog
There are many other types of unintentional abuse, but these are the main ones.
How to help
The answer is simple, just be more cautious of how you are caring for your dog. Remember that dogs are living creatures too, and they have the same needs as humans.
